Hyloxalus aeruginosus is a species of frog in the Dendrobatidae family. It is endemic to Ecuador. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montanes, and rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss. Hyloxalus aeruginosus is the least-toxic of the Dendrobatidae family; it is completely harmless to humans in the wild; however cats and dogs have become sick after comsuming wild specimens.
